I'm going to take a moment...
... and be pleased as punch happy.:)

There's a lot to be pleased as punch happy about.

I took Muff (cat) to the ophthalmologist today for an eye & blood pressure check. My girl is 24 years old this year. She's a little hypertensive, but blood pressure meds for the past few years have leveled that out and per the Doctor, she's doing fabulous. There's old age stuff happening, lost a pound, hardening of her lenses, but since she's still a purring, eating machine, it's all good.:)

Sammy (cat) - he's gone through so much, but always a trooper - some diet tweaking and he's off the meds that gorked him out and now we have our bright-eyed boy back. He'll be 18 this year and just so flippin' adorable some days we can't even stand it.

Yes, I'm gone over our four-legged babies. And those of you with four-legged babies who know what they add to your life, no other explanation is needed, right?:)

It's spring! There's long green grass and leaves and warm rain and very noisy birds, plants to be planted - oooo... we purchased some heirloom irises and glads this year. Some of which are old enough to have fragrance. So there will be playing in the dirt soon. Like this weekend which is a 5 day weekend for us and I'm so flippin' happy about that and Fast and Furious to go see - this is becoming an incoherent post.

I'm very happy to live in a state where marriage is for everyone and this from someone who doesn't even believe in it, but if that's what you want to do then everyone should have the right to do it. I've been sitting on this out deference to those who may not share this view and not to get political. But I AM ECSTATIC! And the law is written equally. No tweaks, no differences. Equal for 'oops, that didn't work' to 'still holding hands at a hundred' kind of equal. To those whose states have already made the move for marriage equality - happy to join you.:)

Happy Monday to you all!

Celebration time!!!
Business taxes are done and plopped into the accountant's far more capable hands. This after going back and fixing much, much stuff since last year he asked me why I was doing it like that.

Me. Cos, that's how it was given to me.

Him. Well, you don't need to be that complicated and this should really be here so it all makes sense.

Me. How many years have I been coming to you and you're telling me now?!

Trouble with owning a business, people assume you understand stuff like retained earnings or equity or whatever. Or accounts that were set up by the previous owner who has a PHD in business and figures anyone can pick this stuff up because they've tossed it into your lap.

Hah! I showed them.:D

Anyway, new SPN tonight. This is one of those hold your breath and see where it goes episodes. Me, I'm making popcorn and settling in to enjoy the pretty boys.:)

And catch up with LJ. A friend I was not this week. Bookwork is banned for the weekend. I need not look at another number until Tuesday. That's my kind of weekend.:D

Have you seen this?
Harrigan shared this with me. Oh please, please, someone tell me they are doing this - Run For Your Lives! It's held at different locations.

Check out the video. The people behind the scenes are obviously having fun with the silly.

And how can you not love a registration for zombies?

Calling all Brain-Eaters!

We will be opening zombie registration for the Indianapolis race very soon!  There will be a limited number of spots available so stay tuned to our website, facebook, and twitter for updates.

Here are some things to think about prior to registering:

  1. When do you want to be a zombie? - You can feast from 8am – 11am, 11am – 2pm, or 2pm – 5pm.
  2. What type of zombie are you? - You can be a fast, Chaser Zombie or a horrifying, Stumbler Zombie.
  3. Who else do you want in your zombie group? - During registration you will have the opportunity to request other zombies you want in your group.
Hee.

Hello Weekend!
May you seem longer than you really are.:)

This was a week where I was pretty sure the universe was laughing and not sharing the joke.

Look, look, look!
See the pretty icons [livejournal.com profile] 1_rhiannon_1  made for me! Thank you again.:)

And since we now have a Dreamwidth seed account, we are allowed 250 icons. We have room for all of them. No choosing!

Life is good.:D

P.S.: [livejournal.com profile] harrigan  -  still have a thing for a very nice backs.

Billy Elliot The Musical
If this musical comes to your city or one near you...GO. It's good. Better than good. A three hour production with intermission that flies by in what feels like an hour. We caught it on the second to the last night it was here and we were fortunate to get great seats. The venue it played in doesn't really have bad ones, but you don't expect to get the main floor when you purchase tickets the same day.:)

It's clever, sad, funny and so vibrant you have a hard time staying in your seat. I still get tingling thinking about it. So GO!

Time Management
Which this household needs to learn in the worst way. Granted, fooling around on LJ is the biggest time consumer ever, but it is also informative, silly and fun as well.

So here's a question - for those organized people in the world, what tricks do you have for carving out time for the fun and silly without diving into the productive time?

One thing I've gotta do is figure out how to keep one of the cats from crawling under my wardrobe and sneaking up behind into my sock drawer and pawing them all apart to make her little nest. I can waste ten minutes in the morning looking for a pair. It's a good thing she's so cute with those blinking-you-woke-me-up-from-my-nap-eyes when I pull it open and see her idea of a perfect sleeping place.

We're organizing today, which means a full-blown mess before you get it organized, but it has to happen. Any ideas would be ever so welcome!

And side note: Homemade Twinkies are ridiculously yummy!!

Back to Winter, Therefore New Pic
Snow. Lots of wet heavy snow which is melting quite well (thank you very much). So heavy it tore our cat proof fencing and tore apart a cedar tree. But since we have it, it is time for a new banner pic from a gorgeous winter day and our first time snowshoeing - which has got to be one of the best winter things to do besides hibernating inside where it is nice and warm.

Winter survival tip - pay someone else to shovel that walk.:D

Painting and Cats
While painting windows or walls would be much easier without the felines - since it is inevitable they're going to get into the paint somehow, someway - I've gotta say the little trail of paw prints they leave behind is pretty cute.:)

Love this word...

Karmageddon

I love the definition even more.

Definition of karmageddon (kär'mə-gĕd'n):
1. (n.) It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes. And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's a serious bummer.

Isn't that like, perfect?:D

So, today...
... I sunburned my nose. I haven't quite gotten the dirt out from under my fingernails. I scooped some seriously goopy goop out of our gutters.

And it was the most gorgeous, beautiful, utterly perfect, enjoyable day. Spring is divine.:D

Love Spring...
... but as far as this journal is concerned the layout headed right into summer. So nice to see green.:)

And doesn't it make you want to hop in a boat and drift, drift, drift your way down the very slow moving river....

Guys with great legs who have broken in a pair of jeans just rrriiiiggght would cross my line of vision every single day.

I don't even mind the snow if that view is going to show up to shovel my walk.:D
