Pacific Rim
First time I've been overwhelmed by the IMAX/3D effect of a movie and it was glorious!:)

We enjoyed! The perfect crash, bang, boom movie with a side of pretty.

And we played hooky from reality for an afternoon. What's better than that?

Man of Steel

Henry Cavill looked fabulous in the suit! )

Iron Man 3
I'll just duck behind...

... the cut )

We had the crazy luck of arriving late to the theater, technical problems occurred - we had no idea - and for everyone's trouble they gave out free tickets. Heh... we were grateful we didn't miss anything.:D

Promise, last trailer
But dang, there's so much goodness coming! I had no idea. I heard another Superman was being filmed, but didn't know when it was coming out. Superman isn't a favorite as far as comic book heroes go, but then Superman has never been played by Henry Cavill. I've never gone to a Superman movie, but I will for him and if the trailer is anything to go by (please, please), I like what they've done.:)

So. Much. Pretty.

Underworld Awakening
We were so in the mood for a movie like this. While we don't necessarily think you need the 3D/IMAX experience, we enjoyed it.

Besides, seeing Theo James in 3D with sharp pointy objects - including his adorable little incisors made for a lovely Sunday morning. Kate Beckinsale - she can run circles around Twilight. Literally.

Suffice to say, Underworld is more our kind of vampire/lycan movie.

Captain America
I think they're getting the hang of making these movies. It was very enjoyable and summer seems a long way away for the Avengers movie, but kudos to the studios for knowing how to build up the anticipation.:)

Personally, you can't ever get enough of Tony Stark.

Dumb Fun

Catching up on movies. Fast and Furious... the fourth one... we're not that far behind.
So-so acting. Minimum of plot. All car chases, but ones that are fascinating to watch. Far-fetched beyond belief. Pretty men with the most excellent voices - which is why Vin Diesel is in the pretty boy category when he isn't.

Paul Walker rules the pretty boy category.

The best kind of movie where you kick up your feet with a bag of munchies and rewind the cool stuff. And you don't have to engage your brain at all.:D

X-Men Origins

Oh hello, Mr. Jackman....

... and yeah, enyoyed the movie. But seriously? Kind of distracted by the gorgeousness that is Hugh Jackman.

Sean Bean as Zeus

*grin* )

Iron Man Question
Anyone know how close the movie adaption was to the comic? Did it matter? Out of all the movies made from comics I thought Iron Man was the most entertaining. But is that due to not being as familiar with the story?

And Robert Downy Jr. as Tony Stark? Inspired bit of casting.:)

Saw it Saturday night... )

My Bloody Valentine

I know, we're behind, but we did finally get a chance to see it, and...

it was brilliant )
