I hope someone can answer this or point me in the right direction to find my own.

I have some confusion with what constitutes character growth or out of character. What is the line there? Anyone know? I've seen a few fics where I think a character has gone OOC, but it is termed character exploration or character growth. I understand wanting to explore how a character could evolve, but at the same time I stumble on that evolution. I'm wondering if there is a resource out there that would help with this.

Or is this subjective on the part of the reader and writer? A point where you agree to disagree with the interpretations of those characters.
